PST Book Club: Black Voices in Theatre

In our continued commitment to fostering diversity and anti-racism in our community, we are starting a virtual book club focusing on Black playwrights, entitled "Black Voices in Theatre." Each book club meeting will have a different theme paired with two plays:

Retellings and Reclamations  — Wednesday,  July 8th at 7pm

Drama Behind the Drama — Wednesday,  July 29th at 7pm

Breaking the Theatrical Form — Wednesday, August 12th at 7pm
For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide/When the Rainbow is Enuf  by Ntozake Shange (1976)
What to Send up When it Goes Down by Aleshea Harris (2018)


This book club is open to the entire PST and Princeton town and University community of students, faculty, alumni, art-makers, and audience members. There will be limited enrollment and a waitlist once we've reached capacity, so sign up now! The sign-up and ways to purchase scripts can be found here. You can sign up for 1, 2, or 3 meetings, but you must sign up for each book club meeting separately. We encourage those participating to purchase their scripts ahead of time if you will be using print versions to make time for shipping.
