2024 Executive Board

Princeton Summer Theater's executive board is made up entirely of passionate college undergraduates and recent graduates, primarily from Princeton University and the Princeton community. 


 

Layla Williams, artistic director

Layla Williams '25 is an African American Studies major pursuing minors in Theater and Music Theater and Creative Writing. Influenced by her research and global experiences, she has always viewed her theater practice as a balance between artistic expression and intellectual curiosity. At Princeton, Layla serves as the president of Princeton University Players (PUP), a Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellow, and a director and performer for PUP and the Lewis Center for the Arts. She is looking forward to a summer full of theater and community with PST!

 

ALEX SLIsher, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Alex Slisher '25 is excited to be with working with PST again this summer, both as season Executive Director and Lighting Designer for "Emergency"! Graduating with a major in Computer Science and a minor in Theater, they are an experienced lighting designer, having worked with Princeton Summer Theater, the Lewis Center for the Arts, Princeton University Players, Princeton Triangle Club, and Frist Campus Center. Over the course of the next year, Alex will be completing independent work with the LCA, exploring the relationship between lights, sound, and audience emotional responses. They are excited to see what this season brings for PST!

 

John Venegas juarez, PUBLICITY DIRECTOr/ Playwright-in-residence

John Venegas Juarez ‘25 is a Mexican-American actor, playwright, and dramaturg based in Princeton, NJ. He is currently a junior at Princeton University, where he majors in History with minors in Theater and Latin American Studies. As a creative he specializes in multilingual productions— working in English and Spanish translation and interpretation. As an actor he has originated several roles in new musicals developed at Princeton and abroad. He is excited to create amazing theater with PST!

 

SAHAF CHOWDHURY, EXECUTIVE ASSOCIATE

Sahaf Chowdhury is a rising junior in the Art and Archaeology department, also planning to minor in Theater, as well as Computer Science. Outside of PST, you’ll find him obsessing over a specific song and playing it on loop for significantly longer than what is considered acceptable.
